More Than
A Pencil
Red Pencil was named after a sea urchin that Rell Sunn, the Queen of Makaha and world champion surfer, gave to founder Mamie Peers during their last dive together in Makaha, Hawaii, Peers’ first home.
The sea urchin symbolizes the spirit of working with Aloha, embracing vibrance, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the currents at play, all while maintaining staying power.
Since then, Peers has taken the red pencils with her to Wichita, Las Vegas, and now Salt Lake City, where she currently resides.
