Drew Las Vegas
Project
/Details
A 3,700+ room hotel with 500k+ square feet of convention space, Drew Las Vegas was anticipated to open in 2022. In this role Red Pencil served as a fractional executive leading strategic development projects related to marketing, human capital, back of house design, sales, brand, and partnerships. The goal was to create a first of its kind resort in the heart of the strip, reflective of the Mojave Desert.
Red Pencil delivered the brand’s first onboarding deck, its first culture & code document, a full back of house design & layouts for hundreds of thousands of square feet and based on tours of a handful of forward-thinking companies across the country.
Website
Furthering the vision to take inspiration from its place in the Mojave Desert, Red Pencil conceived of the creative for The Drew’s first website: a slow-motion video of the local hummingbird, Anna.
Back-of-House Design
As part of our intention to create a first of its kind partnership with Steelcase, every work area in the back of house was meticulously planned and informed by Steelcase’s vast and compelling research regarding modes of work, and the importance of choice and control.
Purposeful Spaces
As the final hotel location was under construction, we developed the temporary office design to be reflective of the disruptive and daring culture we set out to create.
Culture Development
In collaboration with The Drew’s leadership team, we defined and developed its cultural pillars and guideposts and created the first onboarding materials for what was to become more than 7,000 staff. These materials were used to onboard the sales & Marriott teams through 2020.
